1. Owing to persistent complaints from members of the public on the activities of the Special Anti-robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police, in particular, several allegations of human rights violations, the Federal Government of Nigeria had requested the National Human Rights Commission to constitute a Special Investigation Panel to investigate allegations of human rights violations against the Special Anti-robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police and to make appropriate recommendations on its restructuring.
