The United Nations Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) meeting is currently taking place in Geneva, Switzerland.

The meeting brings together all National Human Rights Institutions NHRIs across the globe to discuss specific issues around human rights. Among the issues on the agenda of the meeting is the Role of NHRIS in the Implementation of the Global Compact on Migration, the cooperation and experience of NHRIS in the protection of Women and children rights and the Implementation of 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development.

The meeting will also examine the Amendment to the constitution of GANHRI with respect to rules of the Sub Committee on Accreditation (SCA.) This committee is very important as it will oversee the re -accreditation of Nigeria in three years' time, 2022.

The National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria enjoys 'A' Status under the International Coordinating Committee of National Human Rights Institutions.

Executive Secretary National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria, Tony Ojukwu Esq is among the participants at the Geneva meeting. He will present the position of Nigeria on the various issues on the agenda.
