2018 celebration of the West African Human Rights Day in Monrovia,Liberia.

The president of Network of National Human Rights Institutions in West Africa(NNHRI-WA)/Ag Executive Secretary National Human Rights Commission, Nigeria Mrs. Oti Ovrawah with other West African leaders including the newly elected Liberian President George Weah and the outgoing President Elen Johnson Sirleaf during the 2018 celebration of the West African Human Rights Day in Monrovia, Liberia.

The theme of this year's celebration is promoting Rights to Education towards the attainment of ECOWAS vision 2020.

CALL FOR MEMORANDA/NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

1. Owing to persistent complaints from members of the public on the activities of the Special Anti-robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police, in particular, several allegations of human rights violations, the Federal Government of Nigeria had requested the National Human Rights Commission to constitute a Special Investigation Panel to investigate allegations of human rights violations against the Special Anti-robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police and to make appropriate recommendations on its restructuring.
