The Abia State Office of the National Human Rights Commission has intervened to secure the release of Grace, a 65-year-old food vendor from Ogbor Hill, Aba, who had been detained by the State Intelligence Bureau, Umuahia, over allegations connected to her missing grandson.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has announced the election of its Executive Secretary, Tony Ojukwu, OFR, SAN, to the Bureau of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI). The GANHRI Bureau serves as the alliance's executive committee and is composed of 16 members, with four representatives drawn from each of its regional networks in Africa, the Americas, the Asia-Pacific, and Europe.

The Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Tony Ojukwu, OFR, SAN, has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to promoting and protecting vulnerable groups across Nigeria, ensuring that their situations are properly documented, analysed, and addressed in line with evolving human rights realities.
