BOOSTING PEACE BUILDING EFFORTS IN NORTHWEST NIGERIA

The UN Resident & Humanitarian Coordinator, Mr. Mohammed Fall, as part of its sustainability measures under the concluded UN peacebuilding fund project (UNPBF) – “Strengthening Local and State Level Peace Architectures for Peacebuilding and Prevention in Katsina and Kaduna States of Northwest Nigeria, jointly implemented by OHCHR, UNDP, IOM and UN Women in collaboration with the NHRC, Government of Kaduna and Katsina states and various local stakeholders donates working tools to the NHRC to enhance its human rights monitoring capacities.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has expressed concern about the viral videos and reports detailing the alleged inhuman, and degrading treatment of a female passenger, Ms. Comfort Emmason, in an incident involving an Ibom Air flight and subsequent actions by personnel.
