Distinguished guests, colleagues, partners, members of the media, ladies and gentlemen,
Good morning and welcome to the presentation of the September 2025 edition of National Human Rights Commission Dashboard on the state of human rights in Nigeria. Every month, this platform allows us to take an honest look at the state of human rights in Nigeria not merely as figures or trends, but as reflections of lost lives and shrinked liberties.
Date: 19 & 20 November 2025
Format: Virtual
The Human Rights Institute (HRI) of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is pleased to announce a two-day virtual conference on Human Rights and Rule of Law in Nigeria. The conference will bring together scholars, legal practitioners, policymakers, civil society, and law enforcement agencies to critically examine progress on human rights and rule of law, and to chart a path forward for safeguarding dignity and securing justice.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is deeply saddened by the passing of former Inspector General of Police, Dr. Solomon Arase, a distinguished friend of the Commission and a stalwart champion of human rights.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has called on stakeholders to strictly adhere to the Human Rights Council Resolution 55/8 in dealing with issues affecting Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
