Background

Insurgency in the North East has existed for over a decade now and there is still wide spread of violence by Non-State Armed Group (NSAG), and clashes between herders and farmers in the North East of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States. These crises have prompted massive destruction of public building, shelters, farmlands, properties, mass displacement of persons including loss of lives and livelihood.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

The Boko Haram insurgency and counter-insurgent activities in Northeast Nigeria have spiraled into a deeply complex and cyclical situation affecting a number of States. This situation has been exacerbated by widespread inter-communal violence, most notably the violent clashes between herdsmen and farmers in North Central and other parts of the country Benue, Taraba and Nasarawa being the most affected. These crises have occasioned the extensive destruction of property and mass displacement of persons.
